With over 13 years practicing design and six years specializing in product design, I have developed a versatile, full-stack skillset that is built upon a strong foundation of design principles and fueled by curiosity, collaboration, and a desire for continual growth. I aim to bring simplicity to complex problems, I enjoy creating and working within design systems, and I innately look to connect business goals and user needs in the process of creating seamless, strategic design solutions.

Product Design

From wireframing and prototyping to final design and QA, I am experienced in designing products and features from end to end. I assess completed work with a critical eye, and am driven to refine, iterate, and evolve products over time.

I naturally seek out the why during the design process and consistently work to align design solutions with overarching business strategies and immediate goals. I easily see how small design decisions may influence the bigger picture.

 

Systems Thinking

I constantly assess how everything connects and innately understand how one change may impact any given system. This also enables me to focus on designing specific features within an established system with ease.

 

UI & Visual Design

Rooted in strong typography, layout, and hierarchy, my visual design proficiency enables me to translate ideas and into clean, quality, functional, and engaging designs, no matter the context.

I am experienced in building and implementing design systems to improve efficiency in the design and development process and to also ensure a cohesive and unified design language across multiple platforms and products.

I seek to build strong, collaborative cross-functional partnerships with mutual respect and open communication. I find that the strength of these partnerships is directly reflected back in the strength of the work we can do together.

Oftentimes, the path in front of us isn’t clearly paved. I choose to view uncertainty, ambiguity, and complexity in product design as opportunities for innovation, growth, and exploration.

  • 2022–present

    Currently designing new ways of helping customers gain a deeper understanding of their social performance metrics within Reporting at Sprout Social.

  • 2019–2022

    Focused on evolving the MoveSpring platform across end user mobile + web apps and admin center. Strategized with head of product and founders to identify, prioritize, and design features to respond quickly to shifts in the market while increasing product value for long-term, inclusive wellness programs. Collaborated with engineering partners to implement the MoveSpring design system and new features. Continued to manage the design system, branding, and marketing website efforts. Helped to recruit and mentor a junior designer.

    The success in numbers:

    • Profitable within 2 years of launch after shifting from one-time, event-based revenue to an annualized SaaS platform

    • User base grew to over 3,000 clients and 1M end users across the globe within 4 years

    • Growing at 70%+ CAGR since MoveSpring’s launch in 2018

    • MoveSpring acquired by Reward Gateway in early 2022

  • 2018–2019

    Redesigned the MoveSpring app to support the company's business goals of pivoting from event-based transactional revenue to an annualized SaaS wellness platform.

    • Built a robust, modular design system and component library that encompassed the mobile, web, and admin areas of the product, helping to accelerate the design, development, and release of new features while establishing scalable, consistent, and predictable visual design and UX.

    • Developed MoveSpring’s visual brand across mobile and web apps, UI patterns, illustration style, and marketing website.

  • 2017–2018

    Worked closely with company founders, UX designer, and engineers to complete designs for the MoveSpring mobile app, web app, and admin center MVP from the ground up in a 4 month sprint.

  • 2016–2017

    Worked with design agencies, consulting firms, small businesses, and startups to bring thoughtful, strategic design solutions to life through branding, web design, print materials, and UI/UX.

    • Streamlined donation websites and insurance renewal tools to increase conversions and simplify the user experience.

    • Developed branded design systems for multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns to help non-profits communicate their vision, mission, and goals to potential donors in an engaging and compelling way.

    • Helped small businesses express and evolve their brands through identity development, marketing campaigns, and website redesigns.

  • 2013–2016

    Helped startups, small businesses, non-profits, and large corporations to redefine their brands, develop their web presences, and improve their UI/UX.

    • Worked with Google Small Business to help businesses across the country get on Google Maps through web experiences, direct mail campaigns, and an e-commerce site for branded workshop materials.

    • Helped Google Partners develop a suite of websites, tools, resources, and quarterly campaigns to attract, engage, educate, and reward their Partners' performance.

    • Rebranded a small city in Michigan.

    • Helped a wearables startup develop their web presence.

    • Art directed and designed a large internal publication for Nelson Cash.

  • 2012–2013

    Worked with dozens of clients within the overarching institution of Columbia College on projects to support recruitment, retention, and fundraising initiatives. Responsible for developing and executing fresh perspectives on the brand through the design of various publications, environmental graphics, posters, websites, and more.

  • 2011–2012

    Worked with companies both large and small on identity development, branded environments, web design, and UI/UX consulting.

    • Led the design of the first accessible, mobile-first voter registration website.

    • Brought a bold, fresh look to a forward-thinking nonpartisan political event space through a complete rebrand, website and newsletter redesign, and event space graphics.

    • Helped develop The Noun Project's early web presence, including an e-commerce store where users could customize and purchase merchandise choosing from any icon within a library of thousands.

  • 2010–2011

    Designed immersive single-user and multi-user touchscreen experiences to help clients showcase products and communicate with customers in new, exciting, and memorable ways. Collaborated closely with an in-house team of designers, developers, and 3D artists on projects from concept through production and QA. Also responsible for smaller-scale projects including websites and iPad apps.
